A portrait study of Joaquín Azulay; free rider, explorer, and co-creator of Gauchos del Mar, captured along the remote coastlines of southern Chile. Set within cold, volatile waters and untamed terrain, the series frames a practice rooted in autonomy, endurance, and deep environmental connection. Light is restrained, textures remain unpolished, and the narrative resists performance favoring presence over spectacle. Beyond action, the work reflects a freeride ethos: instinctive, nomadic, and uncompromised—where surfing becomes a form of exploration rather than display.
